I believe that in order to live in a world where artists practice their arts, we must credit them them for their efforts. It is an incredibly small price to pay. Therefore, I've tried to credit all photgraphs used here that aren't mine. I'm sure I've missed a few. If you are a photographer and I've used your photos without proper credit, please let me know and I'll rectify the sitiation in some fair manner.

This photo was snapped by Bruce Moore at a particularly beautiful dinner party hosted by Jason and Susan Bell in their Seattle home (thank you Jaybird). Bruce's lovely bride Vikki was also there. I was eating and drinking and had flown all day prior to sitting down. The image behind me is a haunting painting installed in the Bell's dining room. The important points are two: first, this was a quick snapshot during dinner and to Bruce's credit, we didn't even realize he was taking pictures; and second, this photo was not taken in Lake County (I don't know anyone here who would invite me to dinner.) You should check out Bruce's "real" photography at BRUCE C MOORE PHOTOGRAPHIC. I believe this photo is used with permission but I'm not sure.
This is another Bruce Moore shot (except he shot it in color - WOW.) I converted it to greyscale for my own reasons... doing so may have been some kind of venial sin, I'm not sure. The color of the old mahogany is really something special (this wood is not available anymore). I think Bruce shares my love of old wood. He must. This is from an antique Puget Sound motoryacht. Again, this photo was not taken in Lake County. And again, I believe this photo is used with permission but I'm not sure. (I should probably find out huh?)
This magnificent photo is of a male American Goldfinch. Click it. Look at it larger. WHAT A PHOTO HUH? (I'm looking at four real male Goldfinches RIGHT NOW). I wish I'd taken this shot but I did not. I found it on the web at this site. I suppose I've stolen it (which I am very much against). However, the site is in Spanish and I don't read Spanish and so can't make sense of it. I'd love to secure permission.
I didn't take this photo either. No one seems to know who did. This is Kevin Teborek's Yankee Girl (#150). Mine is the same kind of boat - a Shields Yacht - but #88. It is hard to take a photo of your own boat underway. The mystery here is whoever snapped this photo was ahead of Yankee Girl and I can't seem to find anyone who can remember this happening... ever. (These guys are fast... and great.) There are many more photos at our fleet website www.shieldsfleet3.org.
I didn't take this photo either. Same reasons as above. What a crowd huh? The starting gun just fired. Of course Teborek and crew on Yankee Girl have already tacked and are running their own contrarian strategy as usual. There are many more photos at our fleet website www.shieldsfleet3.org.
This spectacular photo of a Canada Goose in flight was taken by Alan D. Wilson and is used in compliance with the Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 2.5 License. General Acknowledgements
Bruce - Your fascinations are contagious. Please keep me exposed.
Jason - You are an urban Zen master. You should plant something. Hint: those green things at the Ritz are plants. No, not the money. The OTHER green things.
Kate - One day you will grow up (if you have not already done so) and return to America. You may wonder about your uncle. Hopefully these pages may show you that 'the garden' and 'the horse' are not only strictly British things. You have connections in Lake County. I think of you often.
Mayor - Come on up and spend a summer with your son, would you? I have WiFi in the hollyhocks and a comfortable chair. Just do it.
Patricia - You won't be reading this but I'll be thinking of you. In the garden, I'm just picking up where you left off.
Suzanne - Almost nothing happens without a thought of you.
Wendell - Your knowledge is deep and your experience wide. Your sage 'Yardening' (to borrow your phrase) advice is always welcome... as are your seeds. Thank you.
Zachary - If I am honest with the part of myself that is competitive, I must admit that some of my efforts here are aimed at finally discovering some small fact that you don't already know. I will keep on trying.
